TV Reviews: Mystery Science Theater 3000 and Ash Vs. Evil Dead
TV on DVD and Blu-ray remains very popular with more and more favorites being released. New TV reviews include:
Mystery Science Theater 3000: Volume XXXIX - this final release of classic MST episodes is bitter sweet… while there are three decent installments this time around, it's (probably) the last release of classic show; and Ash Vs. Evil Dead Season 2 - filled with creative moments and Bruce Campbell's wonderful portrayal of one of the genre's most popular characters, you'd have to be a deadite not to enjoy these 10 episodes.

Notable Releases: Misery, Deathdream, and Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis
Some pretty cool discs have made their way to store shelves over the past couple of weeks. Check out these new titles:
Misery: Collector's Edition - director David Leitch brings a familiarly gritty, stylized presence to the spy-thriller graphic novel adaptation, capturing both combat and conversations with mesmerizing visuals and ‘80s tunes that consistently interweave with the narrative itself; Deathdream - one of the best of the independently produced horror pictures from the early '70s is back in a much- improved transfer; and Eagles of Death Metal: Nos Amis - this documentary goes beyond what happened to the Eagles of Death Metal and their fans at the November 2015 terrorist attack in Paris and shows you the tangible human connections made between the band and followers, brought together even further by the tragic events.

New Reviews: The Last Laugh, La Chinoise, and They Call Me Bruce?
Check out the latest reviews that have been entered into the DVD
Talk Review Database including:
The Last Laugh - deeply touching and empathetic this movie is a testament of F. W. Murnau's distinct ability to communicate deep human emotion with visuals alone; La Chinoise - the barrage of pop-art-derived images and political-philosophical quotations in this Jean-Luc Godard film makes it tough on its audience, but it's well-made and makes for an interesting puzzle-piece in the director’s filmography; and They Call Me Bruce? - this isn't politically correct but it is pretty funny… it consistently aims for the bottom of the barrel and hits its mark time and time again, but it's so intentionally dumb that you can't help but laugh at it.
