TV Reviews: Legion, The Good Fight, and Archer
More TV shows have made their way on to DVD and Blu-ray, and DVD Talk has got them covered. Check out our reviews of the newest TV releases including:
Legion Season 1 - based on a character from Marvel comics, it tells an artsy, trippy tale of mental illness and conspiracy and the result is TV more interesting and engaging than just about anything the form has offered before; The Good Fight: Season One - a spin off from The Good Wife, this show is engrossing entertainment, savvy and smart, and enjoys high-end production values; and Archer - Season 8 Dreamland - is installment is a very different, but still enjoyable, even if it's not as fun as it has been in the past--which may be entirely intentional on the part of the creators after seven seasons with these characters.

Recent Notable Releases: The Virgin Suicides, Dead Man, and The Maze 3-D
Another banner week for home video with the studios releasing some great films and boxed sets such as:
The Virgin Suicides - Criterion throws it back to the magical cinematic year of 199, and comes up with another highlight release with Sofia Coppola's debut feature… a heart-wrenching and beautiful film; Dead Man - an oddball western that is as fascinating as it is entertaining… performed by fantastic cast and featuring some of the strongest direction of Jim Jarmusch's career, it's absolutely a film worth seeing a few times; and The Maze 3-D - the use of 3-D here is remarkable in that it doesn't hit you over the head with gimmicks yet still provides a far different experience than the 2-D version.

New Reviews: The Greatest Showman, The Dark Crystal, and Trigger, Jr.
Some great DVD and Blu-ray reviews have been added to the the DVD
Talk Review Database recently including:
The Greatest Showman - this film has everything: romance, drama, humor, pain and joy, all in a package that is as catchy, toe-tapping and chills-inducing as anything Hollywood has offered in the modern era ; The Dark Crystal 4K - imaginative and wholly involving, this moive is a wonderful, fantastical collaboration from Frank Oz and Jim Henson; and Trigger, Jr. - a fairly typical example of late B-Western Roy Rogers, not much better though certainly no worse than Roy's other Bs. What's significant here is that the video transfer.. a new 4K scan from the original negatives.
