TV Reviews: Bosom Buddies and CMA Awards LIVE
Interested in the latest TV on DVD reviews? DVD Talk has you covered! This week's notable entries include:
Bosom Buddies: The Complete Series - this show staring Tom Hanks and Peter Scolari as two men who dress as women so they can live in a cheap, nice, apartment building has aged better than one would expect and there are a decent number of laughs to be found, particularly from the very funny female side of the roster; and CMA Awards LIVE - this massive nine DVD set covering the CMA Awards from 1968-2015 is a remarkable collection of live performances at the industry's biggest awards show… it also provides a fascinating timeline of the evolution of country music.

Recent Notable Releases: Queen of Outer Space, The Day of the Jackal, and Punisher: War Zone
Several great movies and programs have come out recently, including a few that shouldn't be missed:
Queen of Outer Space - showcasing a top-shelf presentation and a marvelous audio commentary, this film is a borderline-essential purchase for schlock cinema fanatics; The Day of the Jackal - this movie hasn't been represented too well on video before, the DVD release was a featureless non-anamorphic disc, but Arrow delivers a great presentation here along with some substantial extras; and Punisher: War Zone (4K UHD) - essential viewing for fans of Garth Ennis' grindhouse-inspired run on the book… its unhinged, blood-drenched camp is well worth revisiting on Ultra HD thanks to some smoldering HDR, a top-shelf Atmos remix, and an awfully alluring price tag.

New Reviews: Won't You Be My Neighbor?, Adrift, and The Last Hunt
This week the DVD Talk Review Database has some great new entries, including a few discs you may have overlooked.
Recent reviews include:
Won't You Be My Neighbor? - with this film director Morgan Neville has given new relevance to Fred Rogers in a way that some may not realize, and really gets you to your soul at the end… don't be surprised to see this on the list of Oscar-nominated documentaries; Adrift - Shailene Woodley and Sam Claflin are strong in their roles as a couple stranded in the middle of the Pacific Ocean after a hurricane; and The Last Hunt - an unusual, grim western… from its casting on down to its strange, unexpected but satisfying final scene, this movie impresses and deserves to be better known.
