TV on DVD: Monarchy, Playing for Time, and The Mothers-in-Law
TV on DVD remains very popular with more and more favorites being released. New TV reviews include: Monarchy with David Starkey: The Complete Series - This series features sumptuous settings, decorative works of art, a locomotive-fast narrative that makes the history of England's kings and queens sound like a modern political thriller; Playing for Time - Vanessa Redgrave is blindingly good in this unforgettable depiction of one of the many horrific chapters of the Holocaust; and The Mothers-in-Law: The Complete Series - Funny is funny, and this loud, brassy domestic farce delivers the goods.
Other shows recently reviewed include: My Boys: The Complete Second and Third Seasons, Saving Grace: The Final Season, and Henson's Place: The Man Behind the Muppets.
