Notable Releases: The Philadelphia Story, Ingrid Goes West, and The Mercenary
The Philadelphia Story: Criterion Collection Several great movies and programs have come out recently, including a few that shouldn't be missed: The Philadelphia Story: Criterion Collection - still a very enjoyable comedy more than 75 years after its release, largely due to George Cukor's direction, a star-studded cast, and the popular source material it was skillfully based upon; Ingrid Goes West - this movie leverages how engaging Aubrey Plaza is and turns the film into a bit of a showcase for her while gently warning the viewer on the dangers of social media in the modern age; and The Mercenary - aka A Professional Gun - top notch entertainment… a gritty Spaghetti Western helmed by one of the best directors to work in the genre and played by a very game cast. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
