Anime Talk: Rock & Rule, Elfen Lied and the complete Devil Hunter Yohko
DVD Talk's little corner of cyberspace devoted to anime, Anime Talk, has some interesting items this week. We have reviews of a couple of new series, the engrossing and violent Elfen Lied and the action packed Burst Angel, as well as one of ADV's first releases repackaged, Devil Hunter Yohko. Our Things to Look Forward To section has the latest word and street date on Steamboy as well as some info on Makoto Shinkai who some are touting as the next Miyazaki. The feature this time is a little different too. It's a close look at an animated film aimed at adults that wasn't made in Japan. Rock & Rule [Buy] is a Canadian production that may have slipped by some people, but it's just the type of movie that anime fans would enjoy. With a rocking soundtrack by Debby Harry (Blondie), Lou Reed, Iggy Pop and Cheap Trick, and an interesting story, the extra packed DVD is worth checking out. In case you missed them, be sure to have a look at our past columns that include biographies of out anime reviewers, our guide to Dragon Ball, and a look at Anime Overdose 2005.

DVD Talk writer Chris Tribbey caught up with Bud Cort to talk about his career and role in The Life Aquatic. Bud Cort discussed his love for the sea, a break-in at his Italian hotel room, and his few (very few) career regrets. Read the complete interview.

Plus, readers huzzah Jon Favreau's recent B-luminary slathered Dinner For Five and, as always, the ever-vigilant CineSchlock-O-Rama's Most Wanted.
