The Girl Next Door: Unrated DVD Giveaway
You know (and love) Elisha Cuthbert from 24, now she's made the jump to the big screen in the 'Risky Business-esque' update The Girl Next Door [Review]. Fox has granted the wishes of many a Elisha Cuthbert fans and released The Girl Next Door in a not so family friendly unrated DVD edition featuring: commentary by director Luke Greenfield, a trivia track, scene-specific commentary by Elisha Cuthbert and Emile Hirsch, making-of featurette, gag reel, deleted and extended scenes, the original ending and a Trailer to hot to show in theaters. DVD Savant: The Sugarland Express and Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore

DVD Talk Clips of The Week
We continue to get lots of very positive feedback on our DVD Clips of the Week! So here's another great batch of DVD Clips and Trailers: Seinfeld DVD Trailer (on DVD 11/23). Ike: Countdown to D-Day (on DVD 8/21) Clip 1, 2, 3. Goodbye Lenin (now on DVD). Boa VS. Python (on DVD 8/24) Clip 1, 2, 3, plus The Boa vs. Python Trailer. Mickey, Donald & Goofy: The Three Musketeers (on DVD 8/17). Jersey Girl (on DVD 9/7), Clip 1 , 2, 3. Demon Lover (Unrated) (on DVD 9/7).

Just Announced DVDs
An interesting mix of DVDs announced this week, including several new titles in Columbia Tri-Star's Superbit line: S.W.A.T. (Superbit), Underworld (Superbit) , Once Upon A Time In Mexico (Superbit), The Missing (Superbit) and The Guns Of Navarone (Superbit) all out on DVD 10/26. Warner Bros has had a fantastic record with their multi-disc restorations, so we're extremely excited to hear that Gone With The Wind will be restored and released on a 4 Disc Collector's Edition on 11/9. Warner Bros also has another installment in their popular cartoon series Looney Tunes Golden Collection - Volume 2 on 11/2. Universal has announced an Unrated Director's Cut release for this summers sci-fi action fest The Chronicles Of Riddick on 11/16 and as you'd expect the DVD is packed with many special features focused on the effects and how the film was made. Also announced this week: The China Syndrome: Special Edition on 10/26, Profiler: Season 4 on 10/26, The Kids in the Hall: Complete Season 2 1990-1991 on 11/16. This Week's Notable DVDs (8/17-8/24)
This week is a great week for fans of Martin Scorsese with the release of The Martin Scorsese Collection featuring: After Hours [Review], Alice Doesn't Live Here Anymore [Review], Mean Streets [Review], Who's Knocking at My Door and the highly anticipated Goodfellas: 2 Disc Special Edition. Another great American Director Steven Spielberg has 2 early films on DVD this week - Duel [Review] and The Sugarland Express [Review]. Showing that the US hasn't cornered the market on great directors, Palm Pictures has Hou Hsiao-hsien's Millennium Mambo [Review] - a deliciously texturized movie that you should definitely seek out. Other notable DVDs this week include: Connie And Carla [Review] - with Nia Vardalos and Toni Collette in a fantastic gender bending comedy, Taking Lives - Director's Cut [Review] - DJ Caruso's less-than-perfect thriller just might be a good weekend rental, Godsend [Review] - a great cast with a terrible script make it a morbid curiosity rental, Da Ali G Show: Season 1 [Review] - a love it or hate it comedy from HBO and Seeing Other People [Review] - a notable release from the Sundance Channel. DVD Talk Interview - Larisa Oleynik
Larisa Oleynik has had the unique Hollywood experience of growing up and coming-of-age on screen. From her debut in The Baby-Sitters Club to roles in 10 Things I Hate About You and 100 Girls Larisa has blossomed. Now in the Emmy-nominated film, A Time for Dancing, Larisa stars in a touching coming-of-age film that tells the story of two teenage girls bound by a love of dance and most importantly, a love for each other. DVD Talk Writer Danielle Henbest sat down with Larisa Oleynik to talk about the DVD release of A Time For Dancing, her start in entertainment in Les Miserables and working with Shiri Appleby.
