New Movie Reviews: Shoot 'Em Up, 3:10 to Yuma, and Brothers Solomon
Clive Owen, Monica Bellucci, and Paul Giamatti star in the very strange action flick Shoot 'Em Up. Well, lucky for you readers, we have our very own shoot out as Jamie S. Rich [review], David Walker [review], and Brian Orndorf [review] each have some very different opinions about the film. Shoot 'Em Up walks ten paces and unloads into theaters everywhere this weekend. Also in theaters this week is 3:10 to Yuma - James Mangold directs this Western remake of the Elmore Leonard story with Russell Crowe and Christian Bale in the starring roles; The Brothers Solomon - Will Forte, Jenna Fischer, and Will Arnett star in this lukewarm comedy; and In the Shadow of the Moon - the stunning and excellent documentary about the surviving members of NASA's Apollo missions. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: Halloween, Death Sentence, The 11th Hour, War, Ladron que Roba a Ladron, Balls of Fury, Freshman Orientation, September Dawn, The Nanny Diaries. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films in theaters in our Movie Talk Forum Area.

TV on DVD Reviews: Dresden Files, Grey's Anatomy 3 and UCB
The Dresden Files Season 1 A ton of notable TV on DVD reviews this week including: The Dresden Files: The Complete First Season - a strong series from the Sci-Fi channel that was overlooked and should be sought out on DVD; Grey's Anatomy: Season Three - Seriously Extended - a compulsively watchable soap opera that fuses wit and heart to charming effect, making this ABC hit one to watch as its fourth season begins; Upright Citizens Brigade - The Complete Second Season - this collection has some terrific episodes, including some of the best sketch comedy shows we've ever seen; Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee- while perhaps not 100% historically accurate, has an overarching truth of spirit and heart that will speak deeply to many people. Other recent TV on DVD reviews include: Bosom Buddies - The Second Season, Dog Whisperer With Cesar Millan: The Complete Second Season, My Hero: Complete Season Two, The Odd Couple: The Second Season and The Simpsons - The Complete Tenth Season. HD Talk: The Format War Heats Up and Huge High-Def Giveaway
Blades of Glory This week in HD Talk we dissect Paramount's decision to become HD DVD exclusive. Are they making a savvy business move or just leaving money on the table. And is it any more anti-consumer than any other format exclusive studio? We've got new release announcements from Fox and some excellent deals from Amazon.com for those looking into getting into either format. Das Monkey looks at the Panasonic DMP-BD10 Blu-ray player and finds it performs admirably in its primary function of delivering high definition video and high resolution audio. Daniel Hirshleifer dives into Heroes - Season 1 on HD DVD and finds that the glut of supplements makes this the superior home video version of this compulsively watchable show. Also this week we have the launch of a huge HD Talk Giveaway from DVD Empire, where you get to choose the format you want to win! Check out all of this and even more in this week's HD Talk. If you wish to discuss HD DVD and Blu-ray, join us at the HD Talk Forum. Also be sure no to miss DVD Talk's Review database with almost 500 other HD and Blu-Ray Disc Reviews.

New DVD Reviews: Troy Director's Cut, Deliverance and Broken English
Troy Director's Cut With over 20K DVD reviews in the DVD Talk Review Database, it's easy to overlook some of the great reviews. Recent DVD Reviews include: Troy - Director's Cut - a fuller, richer, and more epic narrative packed solid with everything you'd be prepared to see from an action / adventure rendition of Troy's tale; Deliverance: Deluxe Edition - Raw and riveting, Deliverance still packs quite a punch for a 35 year-old thriller; Broken English - a return of sorts to the stripped-down indie roots of the elder Cassavetes, yet informed with a modern yearn that keeps it relateable and out of the jaws of pretense; Face/Off: SE - Slick, stylish and over-the-top, John Woo's Face/Off is one of the more memorable action films of the 1990s. Other new DVDs recently reviewed include: BloodRayne 2, Disney Princess Enchanted Tales - Follow Your Dreams, Elvis - That's the Way It Is, Snake Woman's Curse, The Talmud and White Light/Black Rain.
