New Movie Reviews: Bruno, I Love You, Beth Cooper, and Labor Pains
Sacha Baron Cohen brings the last of his characters to the big screen in the uproarious satire Bruno. DVD Talk critics Brian Orndorf and Jason Bailey brace for impact. Director Chris Columbus destroys his career with the execrable teen comedy I Love You, Beth Cooper. And Lindsay Lohan taps the final nail in her career coffin with the pregnancy farce Labor Pains. Also in theaters: Gertrude Berg and her classic creation "The Goldbergs" are chronicled in the documentary Yoo-Hoo, Mrs. Goldberg. And the concert film Soul Power takes audiences back to the Zaire '74 Music Festival. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: Public Enemies, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Ice Age: Dawn of the Dinosaurs 3D, Cheri, The Hurt Locker, The Proposal, I Hate Valentine's Day, The Stoning of Soraya M., My Sister's Keeper, The Hangover, Moon, Up, and Star Trek. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films In Theaters in our Movie Talk Forum.

DVD Savant: The Deep, My Dinner with Andre, and The Seventh Seal
The Deep This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: The Deep [Blu-ray] - Peter Yates' Caribbean treasure hunt yarn makes for good escapist fun, thanks to high production values, outstanding underwater scenes and a committed cast: Robert Shaw, Jacqueline Bisset & Nick Nolte. Also starring 1001 colorful fish, impressive non-CGI effects and the most famous wet T-Shirt in modern history; My Dinner with Andre - Yes, you will believe that two guys talking for two hours can be be wholly absorbing. Louis Malle's daring film of Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory's autobiographical screenplay is a surprisingly engaging, uplifting experience; and The Seventh Seal [Blu-ray] - Ingmar Bergman's classic can boast the most recognizable art film image of all -- Max von Sydow's medieval knight playing chess with Death. Criterion's disc offers a terrific new transfer. The movie is spooky, but warmly human and funny, too. The Blu-ray comes with the entire documentary feature Bergman Island. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant

This Week's Notable DVDs: Mystery Science Theater 3000: XV, Beau Geste, and Lonely are the Brave
Mystery Science Theater 3000: XV This week several great movies are coming out this week, including another set from one of my all time favorite shows: Mystery Science Theater 3000: XV [DVD review]- four more 'experiments' that are as fresh, fast-paced, and hilariously funny as they were in their original airings; Beau Geste [DVD review] - a great adventure wrapped around an intriguing mystery that might have come from the pen of Agatha Christie; and Lonely are the Brave [DVD review] - As high as a recommendation will go. This film is a bonafide lost classic. Other releases of note include:  Knowing [DVD review, Blu-ray review], and Push [Blu-ray review].
