TV on DVD: Psych, The Middleman, and Torchwood
Some great TV shows have been released lately. Check out some of the recommended shows including: Psych: The Complete Third Season - With this third season the show seems new and fresh. They've added a bit more continuity, flashed out the characters backgrounds a little, and upped the humor quotient some; The Middleman: The Complete Series - needs to be in the DVD collection of several million genre fans, and it needs to be there yesterday; and Torchwood: Children of Earth - The performances are uniformly brilliant, the writing is phenomenal, the direction slick and always on the mark. One of the finest science fiction works in recent memory.
check out these reviews too: The updated review of Joss Whedon's Dollhouse: Season One that includes comments on the unaired 13th episode, Stargate SG-1: Children of the Gods and Florence Nightingale (1985). Want more? Check out all of the TV on DVD reviews in the DVDTalk

This Week's Notable DVDs: Race to Witch Mountain and The Soloist
Well, it's a bit of a slow week on new releases. They all can't be winners I guess. Still, there are a few new titles worth checking out, such as: Race to Witch Mountain [Blu-ray review]- Pure escapism with a strong fantasy element, the film boasts some great action sequences and a very appealing lead performance by Dwayne Johnson; The Soloist [DVD review, Blu-ray review] - this is a movie that deals in the messiness and loose ends of real life, and it's in that emotional chaos that this film finds its greatness.
Other releases of note include: Project Runway: Season Five [DVD review], Flight of the Conchords: The Complete Second Season , and Agatha Christie - Marple - Series 4 [DVD review].
