New Movie Reviews: Whiteout, Sorority Row, and It Might Get Loud
Kate Beckinsale battles the cold, screen logic, and a serial killer in the Antarctic thriller Whiteout. DVD Talk critics Brian Orndorf and Jamie S. Rich feel the chill. A college prank turns into an invitation to kill on Sorority Row. And Jimmy Page, The Edge, and Jack White trade guitar war stories in the documentary It Might Get Loud. Also in theaters: Tyler Perry returns to the land of melodrama and cross-dressing in I Can Do Bad All By Myself. Stitchpunks go wild in the challenging animated film 9. Stalking makes for one of the best indie comedies of the year in White on Rice. Live life with nature, not against, like the No Impact Man. It's crime and opportunity for Lorna's Silence. And a family of Palestinians make a home in Illinois in the dramedy Amreeka. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: Halloween II, The Final Destination, Inglourious Basterds, The September Issue, All About Steve, World's Greatest Dad, Gamer, Extract, American Casino, Julie & Julia, Tickling Leo, and G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films In Theaters in our Movie Talk Forum.

Anime Talk: The latest anime reviews and Dragonball Evolution(?)
Anime Talk; Grave of the Fireflies and Dragonball Evolution(?) Okay, Anime Talk is finally here... a month late. Sorry about that! We've been busy, but not too busy here at DVD Talk. Some titles have come through since our last column, and there are still many reviews in the works. What we're featuring in this column is the wave of Blu-ray titles by FUNimation, the reemergence of ADV of late, and many other sets that were released recently. WTK has a nice collection of bargains, including some sweet deals from RightStuf, and we take a look at the tepid (and that's being nice) live-action Dragon Ball movie. I don't know why we're looking at that, but what the heck! Check out all this and more in this month's Anime Talk!

DVD Savant: M*A*S*H, Hot Fuzz, and Pitfall
State of Play [Blu-ray] This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: M*A*S*H [Blu-ray] - The original hilarious Robert Altman service comedy with Donald Sutherland and Elliott Gould looks better than ever on Blu-ray; Hot Fuzz [Blu-ray] - Edgar Wright's uproarious sendup of cop crime shows blasts out at full impact level, with additional extras; and Pitfall - Savant's Revival Screening Review examines a genuine classic noir unavailable on disc -- André De Toth's 1948 story of a husband whose infidelity puts his job, his family and his life in jeopardy. Terrific performances from Dick Powell, Lizabeth Scott, Jane Wyatt and Raymond Burr. The richly subversive script could even be the inspiration for Invaders from Mars -- little Jimmy Hunt plays a boy who reads comic books and has nightmares of things outside his bedroom window. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
