TV on DVD: Mystery Science Theater 3000, Patrice O'Neal, and Nurse Jackie
TV on DVD remains very popular with more and more favorites being released. New TV reviews include: Mystery Science Theater 3000: Vol. XX - This show survives because it's funny, period; Patrice O'Neal - Elephant In The Room - it's a rare day when Patrice O'Neal isn't funny and this 77-minute set is more of his usual hysterical comedy; and Nurse Jackie - Season Two - this second season is not only even better than ever, but the show is moving toward that top-tier of great television.
Other shows recently reviewed include: Top Shot: The Complete Season One, Hollywood Comedy Legends - 50 Movie Pack, and Universe: The Complete Season Five.

DVD Savant: All the President's Men, Two in the Wave, and Inside Job
This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews and articles including: All the President's Men - It sounds like a flaky concoction, casting Hollywood stars Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford as dauntless journalistic heroes on a noble quest to take down a corrupt presidency. Alan J. Pakula's picture is instead one of the best real-life political thrillers of all time, and a docudrama that doesn't exaggerate the facts; Two in the Wave - A documentary about the friendship of the two most famous directors of the French New Wave, Francois Truffaut and Jean-Luc Godard; and Inside Job - Charles Ferguson's documentary expertly communicates the fleecing of America by investment banks, showing up the venal thieves and liars for what they are without taking partisan sides. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.

This Week's Notable DVDs: Bambi, Burlesque, and The Cable Guy
This week several great movies are coming out, including a few that shouldn't be missed: Bambi: Diamond Edition (Blu-ray) [Blu-ray review] - a triumph on many levels--artistically, technically, pleasurably; Burlesque [Blu-ray review, DVD review] - a fine cast featuring Cher and Christina Aguilera along with well-choreographed musical numbers aren't quite enough to save this film; The Cable Guy [Blu-ray review] - it's remarkable how relevant this film is, both topically and comedically, 15 years after its theatrical release.
Other reviews of note include: S.W.A.T: Firefight [Blu-ray review, DVD review], and Faster [Blu-ray review, DVD review].
