DVD Savant: Moonstruck, Bambi, and High Wall
Moonstruck This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews and articles including: Moonstruck - Norman Jewison brilliantly directs Nicolas Cage, Vincent Gardenia, Olympia Dukakis and especially Cher, bringing John Patrick Shanley's superb screenplay to life. A genuine 80s classic in a (finally) worthy Blu-ray presentation; Bambi - Disney's wildlife fantasy of seasons and cycles looks incredibly clean and vibrant on Blu-ray, and can probably start a big discussion over what constitutes a good restoration; and High Wall - Robert Taylor won't submit to psycho-medical procedures that might open him up to prosecution for murdering his wife -- but doctor Audrey Totter wants him to clear his name, no matter the risk. A better than average psychological noir from MGM. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
