Movies in Theaters: Thor: Ragnarok, Blade Runner 2049, and The Foreigner
Before you head off to the cinema this weekend, check out DVD Talk's reviews of the latest releases including:
Thor: Ragnarok - you can't ask for much more in the way of entertainment and fun... three cheers for all involved; Blade Runner 2049 - this movie manages to take the moral and philosophical themes of the first film and expand on them to create one of the most satisfying sci-fi epics in recent memory; and The Foreigner - Jackie Chan is still excellent, he really does exhibit the best acting of his career, and he's still got the moves, age has not beaten this badass.
Other recent films include: Kingsman: The Golden Circle, It, The Dark Tower, The Glass Castle, Atomic Blonde, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Dunkirk, and The Beguiled.
Check out these, and more, in DVDTalk's Theatrical Review section.

Notable Releases: Into The Night, Junior Bonner, and Death Rides a Horse
Some pretty cool discs have made their way to store shelves over the past couple of weeks. Check out these new titles:
Into The Night: Collector's Edition - John Landis' most forgotten film is still enjoyable in its own right… Jeff Goldblum and Michelle Pfeiffer turn in great performances and it's fun to play "spot the cameo" as the film chugs along; Junior Bonner - one of Sam Peckinpah's most maligned films gets an excellent special edition Blu-ray release from Kino Lorber… the commentary is sure to please Peckinpah's many fans and the transfer offers a substantial upgrade over the old non-anamorphic DVD release; and Death Rides a Horse - Giulio Petroni’s movie might not tell the most original story, but it sure is well made and beautifully shot.

New Reviews: Spider-Man: Homecoming, Porky Pig, and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me
Our reviewers have been busy this week, filling the DVD
Talk Review Database more great entries. Some new reviews of note include:
Spider-Man: Homecoming - a strong addition to the Marvel Cinematic Universe that offers a refreshingly entertaining version of Spider-Man and never gets bogged down in tiresome origin-story cliches; Porky Pig 101 - this 5-disc set encompasses every Porky Pig cartoon from his debut in 1935 through 1943's Porky's Pig Feat, every black-and-white Porky cartoon, presented chronologically, some 101 in all… an amazing collection of vast interest and importance to anyone seriously interested in classic animation; and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me - this movie remains a high point in David Lynch's career, a brilliant film that both precludes and simultaneously expands upon the Twin Peaks story in fascinating ways.
