David Blair
[Email]David Michael Blair was doomed to a life of movie and science fiction obsession from the day he was born. Not only was he taken to see the original theatrical release of Star Wars when he was less than a month old, but he was also named after one of the most famous science fiction characters of all time, Valentine Michael Smith, from Robert Heinlein's "Stranger in a Strange Land." To this day, he is uncompromisingly drawn to everything fantasy and science fiction in nature.
David had an unstable childhood, changing schools almost every year up until ninth grade. His life returned to normalcy when he accepted a full athletic scholarship for track & field at the University of Montana. He later received his B.A. in Print Journalism from UM in May of 2000, and still holds two sprinting records at UM in the indoor 200-meter and 400-meter dashes. He holds the Big Sky Conference's sixth fastest all-time indoor 400-meter time, and is a Junior College All-American.
Today, David is a freelance fiction writer and graphic designer. He loves spending his free time (what little he has) with his beautiful wife and two wonderful daughters, engrossing himself in every DVD he can get his hands on, and researching anything and everything on the Internet. If he could ever maintain a consistent schedule, he would quit interrupting his training for the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials. David is currently writing three fiction novels, (two science fiction and one mainstream) and always has a short story in the works. In addition to his other likes, David has a deep affinity for Anime, the British comedy series Red Dwarf, and all things Jim Henson.
