New Movie Reviews: Monsters vs. Aliens, Haunting in Connecticut, and 12 Rounds
Monsters who sound an awful lot like Seth Rogen and Reese Witherspoon take on invaders from another world in the delightful animated romp Monsters vs. Aliens. A loving family is tormented by spirits from beyond the grave in the horror film The Haunting in Connecticut. And beefy wrestler John Cena plays a series of deadly games with a killer in Renny Harlin's actioner 12 Rounds. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: Best Worst Movie, Knowing, I Love You, Man, Hunger, Last House on the Left, Sunshine Cleaning, Duplicity, Race to Witch Mountain, Watchmen, Coraline, Taken, and The Great Buck Howard. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films In Theaters in our Movie Talk Forum.

DVD Savant: Primal Fear, Forbidden Hollywood, and Wonderful Town
Primal Fear This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: Primal Fear - Edward Norton makes his big screen debut opposite Laura Linney and Richard Gere in this courtroom whodunnit about city corruption and a murdered archbishop; The Forbidden Hollywood Collection Volume 3 - This year's best disc collection so far collects six searing Pre-Code pictures by William Wellman, several of which focus on the social disruption caused by the Great Depression -- as it was unfolding. Featuring stars like James Cagney in interesting roles before they were typecast: Other Men's Women, The Purchase Price, Frisco Jenny, Midnight Mary, Heroes for Sale and Wild Boys of the Road; and Wonderful Town - Aditya Assarat's cool, distracting story generates a romance in the ruins of the 2004 Tsunami in balmy southern Thailand. An interesting human study with a twist ending. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.

This Week's Notable DVDs: Bolt, Quantum of Solace, and The Odd Couple
Bolt Some solid releases are making their way to studio shelves this week. The top titles include: Bolt [review] - a film infused with a heckuva lot of charm, deliriously over-the-top action, and some startlingly beautiful animation; Quantum of Solace [1st review, 2nd review] - an exciting, enjoyable continuation of an edgier, tougher, tighter Bond's adventures, and those who were thrilled by the surprises of Casino Royale will likely find more to enjoy here; and The Odd Couple [review]- rightly recognized as one of the highlights of Neil Simon's amazing writing career, this film is, a total delight all the way around. Other releases of note include:  Watchmen: Tales of the Black Freighter & Under the Hood [ DVD review. 1st Blu-ray review, 2nd Blu-ray review], Stephen Hawking and the Theory of Everything [review], and Room 222: Season One [review]. Be sure to check out our DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.

New DVD Reviews: Ricky Gervais, The Robe, and The Three Stooges
Ricky Gervais: Out of England This week the DVD Talk Review Database has some great new entries, including some discs you may have overlooked. Recent DVD Reviews include: Ricky Gervais: Out of England - a hilarious stand -up performance that blends the brilliant darkness of his TV work with a crowd-pleasing delivery; The Robe (Blu-ray) - this first CinemaScope film release was the most influential movie since The Jazz Singer, and also happens to be very good too; and The Three Stooges Collection - Volume Five - 1946-1948 - this set features some of the best-ever Stooge comedies featuring the greatly undervalued Shemp Howard. Other recent reviews include: The Day the Earth Stood Still (2008) [2nd review], The Mindscape of Alan Moore, and Johnny Got His Gun.  Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
