DVD Savant: The Baader Meinhof Complex, Dreamscape, and Mammy
Baader Meinhof Complex This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews and articles including: Baader Meinhof Complex - You'll need to hang on tight to watch this ferocious true-life thriller about the most notorious terrorists of the last century, Germany's Red Army Faction. Their literal reign of terror makes American violent radicals look like children at play. A superior German film with a terrific cast, and highly recommended; Dreamscape - Dennis Quaid is a psychic enlisted by Max Von Sydow to "enter" the dreams of others, a talent subverted by Christopher Plummer as a plot to control the President of the United States. A well-known hit from the early 1980s, marred by an uneven production; and Mammy - Al Jolson's early talkie musical places him in a touring Minstrel Show, in love with his best friend's girl and framed for murder. Now with its original Technicolor sequences restored. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
