Breck Eisner Launched in 2002 to help reinvigorate lower Manhattan in the wake of 9/11, the Tribeca Film Festival has become one of the foremost festivals on the world cinema scene. This year's festival, which runs April 21 through May 2, boasts a slate of 85 feature films (many of them world or U.S. premieres), and DVD Talk's own Jason Bailey will be there with daily reports and reviews of at least half of them (if all goes according to plan). Check out his Tribeca Preview to see some of the big names and hot indie films on his ambitious schedule. Bailey also has early reviews of some of the festival flicks, including Nicole Holofcener's whip-smart comedy/drama Please Give, Neil Jordan's lyrical adult fairy tale Ondine, and the inventive documentary Arias with a Twist: The Docufantasy.

DVD Savant: Cary Grant, An American Dream, and Dune
Cary Grant: The Early Years This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews and articles including: Cary Grant: The Early Years - The TCM Vault Collection gives us three military themed 30s pictures showing Cary Grant's rapid rise in the ranks of Hollywood stars, beginning as a supporting pretty boy and moving into adventure dramas: Devil and the Deep, The Eagle and the Hawk, The Last Outpost. Rare titles, clean transfers; An American Dream - This 1966 adaptation of a novel by Norman Mailer is a highly entertaining car wreck, a campy exercise in bad taste and pretention. Stuart Whitman is the muckraking TV pundit suspected of murdering his wife, a sadistic nymphomaniac; Janet Leigh is the mob moll dreaming that love is still possible. Great trashy, tasteless fun that leaves no scenery un-chewed; and Dune - Universal presents the Theatrical Cut (only) of David Lynch's extravagant space opera on Blu-ray, making us wish that the director would return to the show for an authorized extended version. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.

DVD Talk Interview: A Talk with Nash Edgerton
Nash Edgerton The Square is a taut thriller that keeps upping the ante at every turn. Building buzz for the Australian export has garnered brothers Joel and Nash Edgerton lofty (but deserved) comparisons to the work of the Coen Brothers, with more accolades pouring in as the film rolls out in select theaters across America. Director and producer Nash Edgerton recently had the time to talk with DVDTalk writer Tyler Foster. He discusses why he wanted to show a short before the main feature and how DVD extras helped him make his film. Read about all this and more in this exclusive DVDTalk interview.
