DVD Talk at the 49th Annual New York Film Festival
The 49th annual New York Film Festival is in full swing, and DVD Talk's own Jason Bailey has taken in several of the fest's most exciting films. Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen, and Michael Fassbender star in David Cronenberg's psychological drama A Dangerous Method, while Kirsten Dunst shines in Lars Von Trier's controversial Melancholia. The story of the West Memphis Three comes to a (relatively) happy ending in the new documentary Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory. Elizabeth Olsen gives a breakthrough performance in the extraordinary Martha Marcy May Marlene. And Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi is the subject of the experimental documentary This Is Not A Film. Be sure to check out our reviews of earlier NYFF selections, including George Harrison: Living in the Material World, Carnage, A Separation, and Tahrir. You can keep track of Jason's NYFF progress via Twitter, and you can read his festival reviews in our Theatrical Reviews section.
