The only game in town at the multiplex this week is The Avengers, the carefully prepared and eagerly anticipated all-star superhero powwow from writer/director Joss Whedon. Jamie S. Rich calls it "a summer movie knock-out that gets everything right" in his four-star review, while Tyler Foster is a bit more reserved in his praise, warning that "it's all so big and so amped up that it practically becomes monotonous."
