New Movie Reviews: Year One, Dead Snow, and The Proposal
Cavemen Jack Black and Michael Cera take a trip through biblical history in the Harold Ramis comedy Year One. DVD Talk critics Brian Orndorf and Jamie S. Rich hunt for the laughs. Nazi zombies rise up from their cold graves and chase medical students in the Norwegian horror comedy Dead Snow. And Sandra Bullock and Ryan Reynolds set up a sham marriage in the romantic comedy The Proposal. Critics Brian Orndorf and Jason Bailey survey the chemistry. Also in theaters: An infant born dead and craving human blood? Grace is a seriously wicked horror film. And Amber Heard fends off horndog teens and a serial killer in All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. Be sure to catch reviews of other recent Theatrical Films: The Taking of Pelham 1 2 3, The Hangover, Moon, Land of the Lost, Away We Go, Drag Me to Hell, Imagine That, Up, Terminator Salvation, Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Star Trek, Angels & Demons, and Food, Inc. As always, we invite you to share your thoughts on films In Theaters in our Movie Talk Forum.

DVD Savant: Valkyrie, Man Hunt, and The Spy Factory
Valkyrie This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews including: Valkyrie [Blu-ray] - UA and Tom Cruise's saga of the 1944 attempt by rebel generals to kill Hitler is a darn good thriller, but one that resists adaptation into a universal audience-pleaser; Man Hunt - A British sportsman tries to shoot Hitler, and becomes the prey in a London spy chase. Walter Pidgeon and Joan Bennett star in Fritz Lang's first anti-Nazi thriller; and The Spy Factory - James Bamford is the writer and producer of this plain-facts indictment of the NSA's mishandling of intelligence prior to 9/11 -- and their later practice of overriding anti- wiretap and surveillance protections. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
