New Movie Reviews: G.I. Joe: Retaliation and The Place Beyond the Pines
G.I. Joe: Retaliation Check out DVDTalk's latest reviews of movies that are in theatrical release. This week's crop includes: G.I. Joe: Retaliation - this sequel is a clear improvement over the first G.I. Joe film. Granted that's not saying much...; and The Place Beyond the Pines - This emotional crime drama kept reviewer Jeff Nelson sitting at the edge of his seat, it's a strong piece of cinema that shouldn't be missed. Other recent films include: Olympus Has Fallen, The Croods, The We and the I, The Incredible Burt Wonderstone, Oz The Great and Powerful, and Jack the Giant Slayer. Check out these, and more, in DVDTalk's Theatrical Review section.

TV on DVD: Star Trek: Enterprise, Veep, and Storage Wars
Star Trek: Enterprise - Season One More TV shows have made their way on to DVD, and DVD Talk has got them covered. Check out our reviews of the newest TV releases including: Star Trek: Enterprise - Season One - CBS' commitment of bringing the Star Trek world to Blu-ray is admirable and this first season is a decent start to a polarizing series; Veep: The Complete First Season -another solid show in the CV of Julia Louis-Dreyfus and the ensemble cast of actors do a tremendous job; and Storage Wars 4 - The show always seemed staged, but it's always entertaining and this season is no exception. Other shows recently reviewed include:  Continuum: Season 1, Hot in Cleveland: Season Three, and Matlock: The Eighth Season.  Want more?  Check out all of the TV on DVD reviews in the DVDTalk database.

DVDTalk's Fourth Annual Drive-In/Exploitation/B-Movie Challenge
Drive-In/Exploitation/B-Movie Challenge April is coming up, and that means it's time for DVDTalk's Fourth Annual Drive-In/Exploitation/B-Movie Challenge! In this event, fans of trash cinema, the dreck and dross of films, will try to watch 100 B-movies in a single month and (optionally) complete the movie checklist that has such diverse items as watching a 60s Beach Movie, a Mexican wrestling film, a "bad sequel to a well regarded film" and a nunsploitation flick (and much more!). Can you spend the evening chatting about the relative merits of various Bruce Lee imposters or are you someone who realizes that Russ Meyer films are an art form unto themselves? Then this is the event for you! If you think you're up to the test, or even if you just want to watch, check out the official Challenge thread. It'll be loads of fun, and there are prizes too! The fun all starts on Monday, April 1st!!

DVD Savant: Gorgo, Wilson, and Hitchcock
Gorgo This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews and articles including: Gorgo - Mother Nature arises from the Irish deep in the form of a 200-foot water dragon, stomping through London to retrieve her stolen offspring. Like a prayer answered for '50s kids, we now have an acceptable video version of this relatively lavish, exciting, and almost universally popular giant monster saga; Wilson - Alexander Knox gets his big starring role as Woodrow Wilson, the man who kept America out of WWI as long as possible, and who tried to sign us up with the new League of Nations, to prevent further wars; and Hitchcock - Anthony Hopkins and Helen Mirren shine in a retelling of the making of the movie Psycho, investing a lot of interesting events with humor and warmth. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
