TV on DVD: The Vampire Diaries, Mister Ed, and Outsourced
TV on DVD remains very popular with more and more favorites being released. New TV reviews include: The Vampire Diaries: Season 2 - Everything season one nailed so brilliantly is pulled off every bit as well the second time through; Mister Ed: The Complete Fifth Season - Solid laughs throughout most of the episodes here...and that's saying something for a high-concept fantasy/sitcom that should have burnt out long before this point; and Outsourced: The Complete Series - A fun, charming series that deserved better.
Other shows recently reviewed include: Doctor Who: Day of the Daleks, iCarly: The Complete 3rd Season, and Hey Dude: Season 1.

DVD Savant: The Twilight Zone, Cul-De-Sac, and Blood Simple
This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews and articles including: The Twilight Zone Season 5 - The final season of Rod Serling's fantasy anthology contains the expected trick endings, heavy-handed morals and ironic payback scenarios, along with fine acting and direction and a score of undisputed classic episodes; Cul-De-Sac -Roman Polanski's quirky English comedy practically redefines cinematic quirkdom; and Blood Simple - The Coen brothers are back with their first film, a big hit that helped launch the vogue for neo-noir and promoted great actors like Frances McDormand, Dan Hedaya and M.
