A Conversation with Kevin Smith Part 1 of 3
Kevin Smith DVDTalk writer Jack Giroux had a chance to talk with writer/director/actor Kevin Smith and discovered that he is just as witty, hilarious and as talkative as his films are. Their conversation was so long, that we're going to split it up into three parts. In this first installment, Smith talks about his newest film, Cop Out, the reaction critics had, and his thoughts on critics in general. Read about all that and much more in this exclusive DVDTalk interview. We'll have part two up next week, with part three the week after that.

TV on DVD: Night Court, Real Housewives, and Southland
Night Court: The Complete Third Season Some great TV shows have made their way onto DVD this week including: Night Court: The Complete Third Season - there is just nothing on the air now that even holds a candle to this classic sitcom; The Real Housewives of New Jersey: Season One - Garbage TV at its most crass, calculating, depressing best - Highly Recommended; and Southland: The Complete First Season - Equally powerful as a character study and a tense police drama, this show is a shot of adrenaline that never lets up. Other shows recently reviewed include:  SpongeBob SquarePants: Spongebob's Last Stand, Krod Mandoon & The Flaming Sword of Fire and Damages: The Complete Second Season.  Want more?  Check out all of the TV on DVD reviews in the DVDTalk database.

DVD Savant: Men Who Stare at Goats, An Education, and Howards End
Men Who Stare at Goats This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews and articles including: Men Who Stare at Goats - George Clooney, Jeff Bridges, Ewan McGregor and Kevin Spacey have the time of their lives in this comedy romp based on a non-fiction book about The New Earth Army, a bizarre Army research program that investigated (participants claim they performed) superhuman feats of mental will. Very funny, brilliantly done, the movie never comes to any conclusions about its subject; An Education - Run, don't walk to see Lone Scherfig's delightful and surprising tale of a London schoolgirl swept off her feet by a Prince Charming who can offer her culture, high living and enlightened surroundings. Great storytelling, great actors: Carey Mulligan, Peter Saarsgard. One of the two or three most entertaining pictures of 2009. Don't let anybody tell you what happens -- don't even watch the trailer; and Howards End - Criterion makes its superb disc of the Merchant Ivory modern classic available in both Blu-ray and now DVD. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.
