DVD Savant: Steel Magnolias, The Devil, Probably, and Child's Play
Steel Magnolias This week the DVD Savant has a number of new reviews and articles including: Steel Magnolias - a tight-knit group of women that support one another through good times and bad; Ray Stark's production is a winner from top to bottom; The Devil, Probably - a disaffected student drifter breaks from his alienated friends, deciding that suicide is the only rational response to a relentlessly destructive and hateful humanity; and Child's Play - Sidney Lumet directed this promising tale of cult-ish violence in a moody Catholic boys' boarding school. Read all this and more in this week's DVD Savant.

New DVD Reviews: Sixteen Candles, Once Upon a Time, and The Last of Sheila
Sixteen Candles Our reviewers have been busy this week, filling the DVD Talk Review Database more great entries. Some new reviews of note include: Sixteen Candles - One of John Hughes' best movies and a classic 1980s comedy, this film retains every bit of its charm and humor; Once Upon a Time: The Complete First Season - this show combines excellent ambitious storytelling with interesting fairy tale characters and the result is unlike anything seen before on television; and The Last of Sheila - a witty, cynical, suspenseful, but mostly extremely clever and well-acted whodunit. Other recent reviews include: Halloween III: Season of the Witch; Korczak: Kino Classics Remastered Edition, and Airport.  Visit the DVD Talk Review Database for all the latest reviews including an entire section devoted to reviews of DVDs out this week.
