I particularly enjoy books and movies that have something meaningful to say about the human condition. I gravitate toward documentaries and independent world films, and I try to avoid movies that can be typified as mindless, meaningless, or by-the-numbers. Being an amateur DVD reviewer allows me to combine my interests in watching movies and writing. Unlike a professional reviewer, or an amateur striving to become a professional, I never review anything because its my job or in hopes of being widely read. Consequently, I rarely review a DVD that I'm not excited to see. My reviews invariably reflect my biases, but I always endeavor to provide enough information so that you can decide for yourself whether the title is appropriate for you. If you read a review of mine and you enjoy it or particularly dislike it, please send me an email. I enjoy the encouraging words, and often learn something from the criticism.
