New Game Reviews: Rock Band 3, Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, Just Dance 2
fallout new vegas review Rolling out an entirely new Pro mode as well as a new instrument, Harmonix and EA released a new version to their massive Rock Band franchise. See if it stacks up to previous Rock Band games in our full review of Rock Band 3, released for the Playstation 3, XBox 360 and Nintendo Wii. Lucasarts released a follow-up to their Star Wars series this week. check out our review of Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II. On the Playstation 3, we took a look at Time Crisis Razing Storm using the Playstation Move controller and Sega's shooter Vanquish. Talking Out of Frame: Alain Resnais, David Bowie, and Ingmar Bergman
Arthouse Fans of arthouse movies have a lot to look forward to in this month's Talking Out of Frame. There are reviews of films by legendary French New Wave director Alain Resnais, Czech filmmaker František Vlácil, and one of Ingmar Bergman's less-famous masterworks get the Criterion treatment. TV on DVD: Slings & Arrows, Ellery Queen Mysteries, and Charles Kuralt

DVD Savant: The Maltese Falcon, Crack-Up, and Middletown

This Week's Notable DVDs: Grindhouse, Beauty and the Beast, and The Elm Street Legacy
Grindhouse Another banner week for DVDs with the studios releasing some great films and boxed sets such as: Grindhouse [Blu-ray review] - even with the lossy audio track this disc is the running for the most exceptional Blu-ray release of 2010; Beauty and the Beast - Disney's classic, the only animated feature to receive a Best Picture Oscar nomination, arrives on Blu-ray; and Never Sleep Again: The Elm Street Legacy [DVD review] - the most insightful, most engaging, and most unrelentingly entertaining retrospective of a film franchise that's ever been produced. Other new releases of note include:  Mid-August Lunch [DVD review], Hard Candy [Blu-ray review], and Don't Let Me Drown [DVD review] - "a damn fine film." New DVD Reviews: The Black Cauldron, Atlantis, the Lost Continent, and Temple Grandin
The Pirates of Penzance (1983) Some great DVD and Blu-ray reviews have been added to the the DVD Talk Review Database recently including: The Black Cauldron [2nd review]- despite its tattered reputation there's much to admire about this Disney film; Atlantis, the Lost Continent - This George Pal film is still a lot of fun even after nearly 50 years; and Temple Grandin - a deftly composed, gorgeously understated look at autism. New Game Reviews: Dead Rising 2, Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock, FIFA Soccer 11, MovieCat!
Dead Rising 2 Review This week Capcom released a follow-up to Dead Rising, their 2007 survivial zombie game. Check out our full review of Dead Rising 2 for the XBox 360. Also on the Xbox 360, we took a look at Warner Bros Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole and the Xbox Live Arcade title Space Invaders: Infinity Gene. Over on the Playstation 3, we reviewed Neversoft's last Guitar Hero game Guitar Hero: Warriors of Rock and Activision's Spider-Man: Shattered Dimensions as well as three EA Sports titles: NHL 11 (Hockey), F1 2010 (Formula 1 Racing) and FIFA Soccer 11. On mobile platforms, we checked out PSP fighter UFC Undisputed 2010, superhero brawler The Hero HD for the iPad, brain testing More Brain Exercise with Dr. Kawashima and movie trivia title MovieCat! for the iPhone / iPod Touch.
