New DVD Reviews: Captain America, Alfred Hitchcock, and Lethal Ladies

Anime Talk: Robotech and Trigun
Anime Talk Howdy everyone! That does seem like an appropriate greeting following the release of a brand new Trigun anime film, right? This month's abbreviated column features more highlighted anime reviews to help out anime fans in finding the best material out there! We were especially busy this month with coverage for the re-release of the incredibly influential anime classic Robotech, which has finallybeen re-liscenced and reissued on DVD in a complete collection set. DVDTalk Interview: Joe Cornish
DVDTalk Interview:  John Carpenter After 15 years working in TV, radio and film, British writer director Joe Cornish has finally become an overnight sensation, thanks to his cult hit sci-fi flick Attack the Block, which chronicles the battle between a gang of inner-city London street toughs and the vicious aliens who crash-land in their neighborhood one night. Up next for Cornish is the release of the film on DVD and Blu-Ray (arriving October 25th), the high-profile new Tintin animated movie, which he did a re-write on with pal Edgar Wright, and a co-writing gig with Wright on his highly-anticipated Ant-Man feature film. But first, he took a moment to sit down with DVDTalk's Francis Rizzo III to talk about aliens, anti-heroes and audio commentaries. DVD Talk at the 49th Annual New York Film Festival
The 49th annual New York Film Festival is in full swing, and DVD Talk's own Jason Bailey has taken in several of the fest's most exciting films. Keira Knightley, Viggo Mortensen, and Michael Fassbender star in David Cronenberg's psychological drama A Dangerous Method, while Kirsten Dunst shines in Lars Von Trier's controversial Melancholia. The story of the West Memphis Three comes to a (relatively) happy ending in the new documentary Paradise Lost 3: Purgatory. Elizabeth Olsen gives a breakthrough performance in the extraordinary Martha Marcy May Marlene. And Iranian filmmaker Jafar Panahi is the subject of the experimental documentary This Is Not A Film.
